Small Fries Day Nursery are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager OR ambitious Senior Practitioner who is motivated for a new challenge, with a proven track record of supporting a team of practitioners to ensure our children have the best start in life. 

In the absence of the Nursery Manager, the Deputy will undertake the overall day-to-day management of the nursery. 

Other key tasks include:

  • Assisting the Nursery Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the nursery.
  • Supporting the Nursery Manager with all day-to-day paperwork within the nursery.
  • Assisting the Nursery Manager in delivering agreed occupancy targets.
  • Promoting high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children.
  • Ensuring that all children attending the nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • Ensuring that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Ensuring that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members.
  • Create and maintain a culture of self-evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.

The Deputy Manager role plays a key part in supporting the Nursery Manager with the ongoing success of the business, by being a role model and having the ability to motivate and support the team to the highest standards.

We are a 2 floor city-centre based nursery growing day-by-day to the delight of the children and families in our care, and the potential to double in size in the near future.

  • Relevant Level 3 as defined by the Teaching Agency (DoE)
